Location: This course is available virtually only. It can be taken from the comfort of your home or office – remotely from any tablet, laptop or computer.

Course Description: This course is designed for non-technical individuals as well as technical individuals who are new to the rubber industry. Centered around basic explanations of common tests and practical examples of how to apply the data collected, this is the perfect course for individuals who are unfamiliar with the world of rubber testing. This course will cover the following topics:
• Common QC tests for rubber compounds
• Aging, weathering, and dynamic testing
• Testing for processability
• Testing to an ASTM D2000 line call-out
• Analytical testing for thumbprinting and troubleshooting
• Raw material testing
• Custom testing on finished parts

This course will be presented in an interactive and upbeat format.

Instructor: Kylie Knipp, ACE Laboratories
Bio: Kylie Knipp is a Senior Technical Account Manager at ACE Laboratories. She earned her Chemical Engineering degree in 2013 from the University of Akron and has been involved in rubber compounding, mixing, and testing ever since. She started her career in rubber custom mixing as the plant chemist at Portage Precision Polymers before transitioning to the rubber testing industry as a technical advisor, education coordinator, and account manager. Kylie is also an active member of the Ohio Rubber Group, is a member of the Rubber Division’s Education Committee and Young Professionals Committee and participated in multiple student outreach programs aimed at getting students of all grade levels interested in careers in the rubber industry.
