Student Symposium
The Rubber Division’s annual Student Symposium is held every October at our International Elastomer Conference. All graduate and undergraduate level students studying the chemistry, engineering, or manufacture of rubber and polymeric materials are invited to participate. The program is designed to highlight both the academic research and applied industry experiences of students throughout the US and the world. Our goal is to provide a positive venue for students to demonstrate the scope of their work and gain exposure to the leading chemists, engineers, labs and companies in our industry.
The Student Symposium features a full day of oral presentations by university students and co-op participants, as well as the concurrent display of student posters. All Student Symposium participants are eligible to compete for our prestigious Best Presentation and Best Poster Awards.
Best Presentation Awards:
1st - $5,000
2nd - $3,000
3rd - $1,000
Best Poster Awards
1st - $3,000
2nd - $2,000
3rd - $1,000
In addition, all university students attending the International Elastomer Conference, whether participating in the Student Symposium or not, are invited to the Student Symposium Luncheon. This provides another opportunity to network and share experiences with fellow students.
Review of abstracts for the Student Colloquium begins in January and all submissions must be received by April. Opt-in to our email communications and follow our social media - Twitter @RubberDivision and LinkedIn Company page Rubber Division, American Chemical Society – to be sure you receive the Call For Abstracts!
