Scholarship Sponsorship
Rubber Division, ACS offers two undergraduate scholarships, a student scholarship in memory of a dear friend of our organization and an award for a professional currently working in our industry. These opportunities are made possible through the investment in the future of our industry from companies like yours. Help us continue to make these scholarships available to those working to keep our industry great. Sponsorship opportunities include:
- $5,000 Undergraduate Scholarship (two of these)
- $1,250 Rubber Technology Training Award
- $1,000 Paul Glasgow Student Scholarship

Undergraduate Scholarship
Rubber Division, ACS offers two $5,000 Undergraduate Scholarships to students entering their junior or senior year for the fall-spring academic year. Applicants for these scholarships may have a major area study in chemistry, physics, chemical or mechanical engineering, polymer science or any other technical discipline relevant to the rubber industry. Each winner receives up to $5,000 to put towards educational expenses and is named a Rubber Division, ACS Scholar.
Rubber Technology Training Award
The Rubber Division, ACS Rubber Technology Training Award provides a stipend to rubber industry employees to allow them to attend a spring or fall Rubber Division Meeting in the year they are selected. Award winner receives up to $1,250 to attend a Rubber Division, ACS spring or fall meeting. At a spring technical meeting awardees are invited to attend on-site seminars and workshops, technical meetings, Science & Technology Awards banquet and the welcome reception. At a fall meeting awardees are invited to attend on-site seminars and workshops, technical sessions, the welcome reception and visit the expo floor.
Paul Glasgow Student Scholarship
This scholarship awards $1,000 to an outstanding member of The University of Akron Rubber Division, ACS Student Chapter in memory of Paul Glasgow. Paul began his career at The B.F. Goodrich Company and continued for 17 years in various roles including technical service, marketing and sales. He held the position of Sales Manager at Stemaco USA for 11 years and served as the U.S. Marketing and Technical Manager for Rogitex International. Paul was an important leader in the rubber industry. Since 2007, he was a member of Rubber Division, ACS. He was serving on the Board of Directors and as an Executive Committee Member at the time of his passing in 2015. He served in numerous positions with several rubber and plastics groups, including New England, Fort Wayne, Blue Ridge, Southern and Ohio Rubber Groups. Paul had a unique ability to build strong personal friendships with customers, co-workers and suppliers. Because of his commitment and dedication to the future of the rubber industry and generosity of his time, he was respected by all who knew him.
