Student Initiative

$500 per Student

The Rubber Division's Education Committee recently started a new Student Initiative to sponsor one student each from a list of key universities (identified by the Rubber Division) to come to a Technical Meeting and attend education workshops/ seminars. Students will receive up to $500 for lodging, food and travel expenses. The criteria for selecting a winner from a school are simple. The student must have an interest and background in Rubber Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or any other technical discipline of relevance to the rubber industry. To receive reimbursement, students must fill out the designated form for travel reimbursement with receipts for their travel. The student must also write a paper on each seminar/workshop regarding what they learned. The professor who nominates the student is also to grade the paper they write. A copy of their graded paper must accompany the travel form in order to be reimbursed for travel. In some circumstances, selected universities may provide travel to some meetings for a large number of students. In these circumstances, the student will not be reimbursed for mileage, only for lodging and meals.
