3rd Annual Student Colloquium

Cincinnati, OH, October 11, 2006

During the Business & Awards Meeting on Thursday, October 12, our 2006 Division Chair, Andy Claytor (Teknor Apex), and Student Affairs Committee Chair, Rikki Lamba (Columbian Chemicals), presented three students with a copy of Basic Elastomer Technology as a token of our appreciation for their hard work as they each won a $1500 scholarship.

Rebecca King with Morehead State University won the Best Undergraduate Poster Scholarship sponsored by Zeon for her work titled, "Anionic Synthesis and Functionalization of Poly(styryl)litium with Dimethylchlorosilane Followed by Hydrosilation with Vinyltrim Ethoxysilane". Anirban Ganguly with the Indian Institute of Technology won the Best Graduate Poster Scholarship sponsored by Columbian Chemicals Company for his work titled, "Effect of Polar Modification on the Morphology and Properties of Styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene Triblock Copolymer-montmorillonite Clay Nanocomposites". Berta Vega Sanchez with Institut Quimic de Sarria (Spain) won the Best Graduate Paper Scholarship sponsored by Gold Key Ltd. for her work titled, "Influence of Microwaves in the Mechanism of Vulcanization of Natural Rubber Using CBS and TMTD as Accelerators".
